What is Fear?

An example:
There is teenage boy who has just reached puberty, and has a smaller brother who sleeps in the same room.
They are very close and share everything together, they are great friend's.
One night the younger brother wakes up in the middle of the night and to his shock, catches the older brother
masturbating in his bed to an adult magazine. The older brother is taken by surprise and threatens the younger brother
with bodily harm if the younger brother says a word to anyone, and gives him a hard body blow as a warning.

The next day they both go to school and coincidentally the mother decides to take the day to clean up
and organize the kid's bedroom. She finds the porno magazine, she is not mad, but wants to know who's magazine it is.
She knows it natural for boys to be curious about their sexuality

When the boys get home from school, the mother is holding the magazine in her hands and demands
to know which one of the kid's magazine it is.
The big brother gives the younger one a mean look and the younger one, say's "it mine!"
The younger brother one knows that his older brother will think he told on him.
So the younger brother gets a stiff talking to about porno in the household, no big deal.
The older brother then smacks around the younger brother when they get alone in the room together,
and takes away the younger brother access to his comics, music collection, clothes, video games, basically everything.
The older brother becomes increasing distant and soon after has little
to do with his younger brother anymore. Essentially ending friendship.
Why?
Because he feared ( imagined a negative circumstance ) in which his little brother told and other people found out.
Then he imagined further what those other people whoever they were would do, say to him or treat him like if they found out.
He was so terrified of his own thoughts. He did harm to his younger brother and ended their life long friendship
to avoid his (negative imagination creation) from coming true.
So in effect beating up his younger brother and ending their friendship, according to him was
a justified preventative measure to protect himself from his own imagination.
Also to protect himself from facing the truth.
So not only is he protecting himself from his own imagination, he is attempting
to protect himself from the truth, that he really did get caught masturbating.
Where does that leave him?
Caught in limbo, in a world between truth and illusion.
He chose fear (illusion) over love (truth) for his brother.
In denying the truth one must fabricate illusion or fiction.
People will say, "Ooh that's just what brothers are like!"
I can't tell you how many times I have heard that crap in my life.
What a load of shit!
It's a matter of basic human respect.

So what is fear?
An imagined negative circumstance, that you think is real.
Illusion.

It's all in our head folks!

Your illusion can kill you, and hurt those around you, even kill them too!
Every heard of the husband who killed his wife because he thought or
imagined she was having an affair, only to find out later she wasn't!
It happens all the time!
